This website is a long wish of mine after so many years doing things with my hands. So I said to myself, this is the time to share what I have learnt over the years with my experience and my passion  for artisans and artist creations. And if you happen to see something in my website that you really like, you can write to me and we can arrange the details so I can make it for you.

My name is Gabriela Díaz-Antón, a Venezuelan/Spanish woman that has the best for the two worlds across the Atlantic Ocean, the Latin and the European world. I just think is great to have this mixture. My mum tough me how to crochet when I was about eight years old. I remember she started to show me how to make “pulseritas” or little bracelets using very simple crochet stitches. Then, over the years I learnt how to knit with two needles, how to make Tunisian crochet, how to punch needle rug hooking, traditional rug hooking and even sewing with an old sewing Singer machine from my mum. I also started painting canvas with acrylics colours paintings.

Doing creative things with my hands really get me immersed in another world, my world, a colourful world.

During some years, I say about 24 years ago, when I was in England, I came across with an artist and craft designer named Kaffe Fassett. I must say he changed the way I look at knitting and crochet. It was like magic, all those combinations of colours. I found out he was coming to give a talk near by and I went to see him. I immediately went to buy his three books he had published by that time, and of course, to practice.

Recently I discovered these big thick jersey yarns or T-shirt yarns, also named Trapillo, made by a recycled by-product of the textile industry. They are wonderful to make rugs, bags, pillows covers and many more accessories and other goodness.

In this website you will find tutoreals, DIY kits, and items for sale.

I hope you like my designs and tutorials.  I also make custom sizes and designs by order.

Happy crochet!
